YOKOHAMA BUSINESS PARK

The objective of this appointment was to come up with a new concept that would successfully relate the entrance halls of three office towers to the surrounding public space. The result of the exercise was the creation of a plaza and shopping arcade which have swiftly acquired striking and undeniable centrality. A ring-shaped arcade/backcloth, vaulted into a terraced artificial hill, and paved square/theater on a gentle slope, enclosed by a trellis-like fence, overlook and are mirrored in a circular pond/stage. An enclosure for meditation and contemplation during leisure time, a secret landmark, an ideal environment for neighbourhood people to meet in: converging here are the footpaths that interconnect this new enclave with the office buildings and the surrounding city.
