In the contest of the Master Plan conceived by the City planners along the fiord which cuts through the heart of Dubai, this development is strategically located on the corner of the water front and the square.
The apartment block, shaped like a gigantic half-wave, rises to a height of twenty-three storeys from a podium containing the commercial mall. Its convex facade ends on the west side with a cascade of balconies stepping down to the piazza behind the podium, whilst to the east the building terminates with a cylindrical tower. The tower marks the entrance to the complex and is embellished by a circular pool jutting out into space.
A twenty-one storey office block encloses the concave side of the residential block, thus creating a full-height, tapering glazed atrium.
Portico and office building: terracotta red sandstone cladding window frames in thermo-lacquered aluminium. Brushed stainless steel sun-screens. Residential building: silver finished anodized aluminium curved facade. Cantilevered and suspended swimming pool: external cladding in silver finished anodized aluminium.
