"A hipogean vestibule unexpectedly comes out from beneath a circular arcade enclose in a high open-air volume and facing the centre of a pool.
Completely isolated from outside, only by deliberately crossing a ramp over this empty central space can the visitor reach a terrace flung open towards the ocean.
Lashed by the winds, open to direct conflict with nature atop a steep cliff on the isle of Shikoku, at once lighthouse and ship, the building is a reminder of the eternal voyage of Ryoma Sakamoto."
