+ DESCRIPTION

Mario Bellini  has won the International Design Competition for the Harbour terminal - fish market jetty zone of Trieste. The "Stazione Marittima" was built in 1930 and has been used as a conference centre for some time. The building has been reconsidered as a whole and its original function as a harbour terminal has been restored to provide passenger services with a view to recovering and increasing the original port functions. Redevelopment will concern in particular warehouse no. 42, located behind the harbour terminal. A new prow shaped building has been superimposed to host new functions.
