Portello Milan Fair

A two-storey buiding extends for seven hundreds meters, crossing two streets, along an axis of penetration into the city, Viale Scarampo. It faces this, at a height of seven meters, with a trellised walk way. This links the present Fair to the new entrances and intersects the five towers, giving access from the crossroads to roof parking facilities. On the opposite side a gigantic portico, with ramps and service roads on two levels, ends with a ziggurat carriageway. Here the vehicular and pedestrian systems, along both sides, conclude dialectically by supporting a large glazed tympanum symbolizing the Milan Fair at the gateway to the city.
